You may be interested to know that Howard Coutts (curator at The Bowes Museum) and I (Mark Westgarth, University of Leeds) did a little talk on the Period Room project/conference as part of the University of Leeds ‘Impact in 5’ presentations.
These are (quite challenging) short 5 minute presentations with 20 powerpoint slides – it’s based on the popular Pechakucha presentation method (20 slides, for 20 seconds each…so 6 minutes 40 secs….)…somehow I don’t feel cheated that we only got 5 minutes!
Anyway, here’s the result!
I was going to say ‘enjoy’…but maybe that’s a bit ambitious!
Jonathan Gration very kindly send us a link to a study day at the V&A Museum, London that may be of interest to PR aficionados. It’s a follow-on of the seminal exhibition at the V&A in 1974 – ‘The Destruction of the Country House’.

One of our PR conference delegates Barbara Wood (National Trust) has brought to my attention the following seminar hosted by The National Trust which may be of interest to some of you…
This one day seminar entitled Elizabethan Interiors: Preparing, planning and presentation, will be held in the Great Hall at Montacute House, in Somerset on Tuesday 25 November 2014.
Montacute House is about to begin a programme of work which will involve the repair and consolidation of the buildings fabric, re presentation of interiors and new interpretation. The seminar day will include presentations and discussions related to research, care and presentation of historic interiors 16th-17th centuries, and will provide a forum to share and discuss. The key note presentation will be given by Lisa White FSA, Chairman of the Arts Advisory Panel for the National Trust and the host for the day will be David Adshead, Head Curator and Architectural Historian, National Trust
